SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

On its journey toward a sustainable future, Okyanus Group adopts the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as its compass. It bases its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) progress on these fundamental values.

The sustainability strategy and performance are overseen at the top management level. All activities related to sustainability are carried out through the Sustainability Committee. Authorized by the Board of Directors, the committee defines and approves the sustainability vision, strategy, policies, risks, and opportunities, ensuring the integration and implementation of the sustainability strategy within the company's overall strategy.

SUSTAINABILITY GOALS

In determining sustainability goals, a comprehensive prioritization analysis is conducted to meet stakeholders' needs and expectations. Based on the results of this analysis, we have defined focus areas and developed our 2030 Sustainability Roadmap to establish an effective management model.

We review our objectives, listed under six strategic areas, through our Goal Table. Similarly, we embrace the responsibility to support our customers in achieving their sustainability goals. We are steadfast in our journey toward net-zero emissions.

REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT – ACTIONS

We are committed to combating climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and minimizing our impact on air, soil, and water. Efforts to monitor and reduce our corporate carbon footprint and the carbon footprint of our products will continue until our net-zero carbon goal is achieved.

To enhance our environmental performance, we transparently analyze and optimize the lifecycle of our products. Our commitment to reducing resource usage, emissions, and waste is applied to every project. At the design stage, we strive to use materials as homogeneously as possible to enable high rates of recycling when the product lifecycle ends. Recycling and recovery to reintroduce waste into the circular economy are top priorities.

We also implement our optimized work model supported by digital processes across all operations. Our waste is monitored and reported annually. Furthermore, we aim to gradually increase the share of renewable energy sources in our energy consumption every year.
